Planed Cherry Timber:
Cherry is a very nice timber to work with and is great for planed timber. The finish and colour quality in the heartwood ranges from a deep red to a red brown appearance.
One downside of Cherry is there can be considerable differences in the colour variation between timber boards, for this reason at Woodubuy all the Cherry planed timber comes from one timber merchant, therefore, although not a guarantee, you are more likely to get consistent Cherry timber planed boards.
We recommend Cherry wood for a number of woodworking applications including skirting boards and architraves.
Whilst the heartwood of Cherry is very resistant to decay, Cherry is commonly regarded as a moderately durable timber.
Planed Cherry Timber has medium strength and resistance to shock loads, low stiffness, and good bending properties.
American Cherry is known to respond well to being worked with and is commonly used in the woodworking industry. The Timber can be used with both hand planing and turning as well as machines. Cherry is a great time to polish and paint.
